The Voodoo combines hardcore construction (as it's still one of very few monofilm free sails on the market) with modern performance and power. It's made to survive even the hardest conditions. A small amount of elasticity due to the vinyl window has been designed into the sail by Kai and his team which makes the Voodoo 2007 also the perfect "toy" for high wind nuking- or gusty conditions.
Kai Hopf's design brief was simple - make sure the entire sail range fits on one mast. And, ensure that the new 2007 sails set North Sails apart from the competition by making sure the sails were even more bomb-prooof! No mean feat, when you consider how strong and durable the 2006 sails were and the fact that any increase in weight would not be tolerated.
The hardcore wave line uses the new imodular_design which effectively reinforces the outside frame of the sail. Double_seam_technology is used throughout meaning that every seam gets a second set of stitching and taping detail.
North have also introduced the use of Xply 112 for the first time, which is used for the whole upper center panel. Unlike ordinary x-ply this new material has double the yarn density, meaning even more strength throughout the sail, whilst keeping the weight to a minimum.
