The new 2007 Pure Acids are designed to be the classic wave board in any riders collection, Kevin Pritchard and Levi Siver can't be wrong. They are designed for wave riding with driven precision and an aggressive attitude with a sharp, direct carving feel.
The Acid is in fact the oldest board in the wave range at Starboard. Developed to meet the requirements of Kevin Pritchard and Levi Siver in conditions like Pozo, the shape has evolved over the last few years but still preserves the traditional wave board style. So if you own one of these new 2007 boards you will be in very good company.
Aimed at large waves and pure down the line sailing, these boards will track with precision and control - and will come into their own if agressively pushed.
The new 2007 shapes feature the "Spiraling Vee" concept: there is more vee in the front than in the tail. As you carve, the forward vee engages and directs the board into the turn - just like the front steering wheels of a car. The tail vee kick behind your back foot is like turning the rear wheels of a car, allowing the rider to adapt his arc with great accuracy and feel, using toe-heel pressure and front foot-back foot pressure.

The Acid 2007 is available in four models 68, 74, 80 and 86 Liters and in two technologies, Wood and Technora. Technora is a brand new technology being used by Starboard that replaces the D-ram construction. It is comes complete with a Drake Natural Wave, G10 fin, footstraps and logo-ed screwdriver.
