Maui Sails Global 2007

Think Global. Act Local - that's the message from the Maui Sails camp. Whether you are used to sailing the breaks of Tourmeline, Coco Beach, Madagascar, New Zealand, Klitmoller and La Torche - or just into freeride blasting at your local beach, then the Global will be your choice in the MauiSails lineup.

The sail making of the TEAM (Barry Spanier, Kevin Pritchard, Taty Frans and Phil McGain) have done it again with new developments of a great sail.

This lightweight wave sail has loads of power and will never give you a hard time. Perfectly suited to the widest variety of situations, its deeper, more powerful shape and wave outline, make it ideal for onshore winds, and early planing. The durable construction and solid materials make it ideal for hard use and a long life; a life of sweet moments on the water, with easy handling and performance.

By carefully matching the deeper shape with slightly more powerful luff curves, and emphasis on soft, graduated twist, Barry Spanier has manage to create a rig that is designed to get you going in gusty conditions and to remain comfortably in control when overpowered. So if you like to get on the road, and sample the sailing in a lot of different places, be sure and have the Global wave in your quiver bag.

The Global takes on a brand new look for 2007, gone are the colour panels that radiate from the clew and in comes a bold swirl look - similar to the North Discos of a couple of year ago. The bold colors in XPly™ are woven into a light-hearted, functional design and high tenacity woven materials assure the designed shape will be retained as long as possible.

The sails also get a number of technical updates. Each one now has a new moulded rubber tack fairing has easy access to attach the uphaul. This fairing also provides rugged chafe resistance against board abrasions. The plastic batten tensioners have been upgraded to with stainless steel screws which make them much more dependable and light weight. The entire range is designed and tested with MauiSails SRS Wave 100 RDM and SRS Wave 75 RDM masts.
