F2 Guerilla 2007 a stunning all-round high wind machine

Patrik Diethelm has taken the Guerilla shapes of last year and made them even more radical.

Introducing three new shapes the F2 developement team have competely re-examined the 2006 range and come back with a set of boards that will satisfy even the most radical of sailors.

With the 2006 models focusing more on the wave convertible and onshore wave outline, it looks as if Patrik has created three new boards that hark back to the roots of traditional high wind sailing - that pure, nervous and radical ride that is favoured by many.

The F2 Guerilla range now comes in three sizes, The Guerilla 69 is a pure down the line wave board that has sharp rails and a thinner tail. Its tight pintail ensures the board maintains thate radical wave riding feel.

The 76 and 84 are more rounded in plan shape but are also thicker around the rails so that they plane much earlier in less than ideal conditions. They steer easily over the back foot in small waves and at the same time slice very cleanly through the water during full speed lay down bottom turns. With a more even distribution of volume, these two models aim to be more general-purpose in waves but do not forget their true wave character !

Key Features

  • The new outline of the Guerillas gets onto the plane very early, provides top acceleration and has a bit more bias towards down-the-line conditions, without decreasing the performance in onshore conditions.
  • A new pin tail at the Guerilla 69 adds more liveliness and high sensitivityfor exact reactions to foot steering.
  • A wide and short nose provides perfect control whilst also giving safety and forgiveness during late white water cut backs.
  • The outline of all 3 sizes still stands for very early planing, top acceleration and an enormous stability.
  • A single concave running into a double concave gives the Guerillas lots of running smoothness, control and thanks to a sharper rail more grip and incredible carving abilities when turning over the rear foot.
  • A slightly reduced dome deck lets the board react instantly to foot pressure.

Magazine Tests

The first test have been carried out by both UK Boards and Windsurf and both reviews have been very favourable:-

"Overall the Guerilla managaes to combine the best of the wide planshape and low grip, loose, ungoverned feel of the 'convential' new-gen board with good all-round sailing. It's a hard trick to pull of and it deserves wide appeal for doing it."

"... the Guerilla 76 is better all-rounder than its planshape and low grip characteristics leads one to expect;it blast and tracks, jumps and gybes very nicely"

Boards Magazine - October 2006

... the 76 is a stunning performer in cross-shore conditions. The Guerilla 76 was one of the most popular boards in our test group, ofefring a great deal of versatility and performance. As a stunning all-round high-wind machine it comes very highly recomended."
