Owners of some of the first production runs of new 2007 Neil Pryde sails should modify the foot trim as it can cause serious cuts.
Buyers of a brand spanking new 2007 Neil Pryde sail may feel more than a bit of pain in their wallet!!
Unfortunately for Neil Pryde, the plastic re-inforcement strip along the bottom of the sail has turned out to have similar cutting properties to a stanley knife blade, lacerating the legs of anyone who dares to sail it!
Pryde are aware of the situation and have issued a video 'modification guide' describing how to remove the offending edge off the foot piping.

An injury from an NP sail - and not a shark in sight!
According to some of the comments on the forums it looks like a few sails were not properly quailty checked and slipped through on the production process...
"Basically the manufactor that does the foot trim for NP sent the maui loft a sample of some new stuff which they used and then approved. However, the manufactor changed the foot trim from the stuff approved and NP wasn't notified. This wasn't found out untill the loft in Maui ran out of the old stuff and started using the new foot trim, which in turn cut the testers legs! As soon as this happened, they stopped production of sails with that foot trim. It was not in production for long and hopefully many people arent affected. It is easy to fix if you do find that your foot trim is too sharp but hopefully that isn't the case in NZ!"
