Hotsuits the inventors of the “Heated Wetsuit” and series winner on last years “New Inventors” TV Programme in Australia, are proud to announce a unique product.
They have just finished developing a “Heated Kidney Belt” which can now turn your existing wetsuit into a “Heated Wetsuit”.
Tested on all leading brand wetsuits, the one size fits all Kidney Belt not only takes the chill off getting in the water but it will also keep you warm for up to 1 hour 30 minutes.
In addition, it allows you to wear a thinner more flexible wetsuit it even eliminates the need of owning both a winter and summer wetsuits.
Another added bonus discovered by divers with back conditions is that they provide effective back support and the heat provided increases movement in the lower back muscles.
The Kidney Belt uses food grade chemical heat packs that can be activated on command by pressing the activator button through your wetsuit, within seconds the heat pack temperature reaches 54 degrees Celsius. The heat gets evenly distributed as it heats up the central core and generates blood flow to the rest of the body. The best part about these heat packs is that they are a completely safe, portable, instantaneous re-usable heat source.
After each use simply boil the pack for 15 minutes to recharge it for the next use.

How does a Hotsuits® Heated kidney belt work?
A. Hotsuits® wetsuit heaters contain a chemical called sodium acetate and water. The chemical reaction is a process called super cooling. The Sodium Acetate "freezes" at 130 degrees F (54 degrees C), but it is happy to exist as a liquid at a much lower temperature and is extremely stable. Clicking the disk, however, has the ability to force a few molecules to flip to the solid state, and the rest of the liquid then rushes to solidify as well. The temperature of the solidifying liquid jumps to 130 degrees F (54 degrees Celsius) in the process.
The heaters used in the revolutionary Hotsuits® Heated kidney belts are a miniature, lightweight, waterproof, non battery operated heater. They work by means of chemical reaction (a process called super cooling). The chemicals contained in the heaters are completely safe (non-toxic) food grade salt called Sodium Acetate.
When you boil the solid, you melt it back to the liquid state. You have to completely melt every crystal, or the liquid will quickly re-solidify. You can repeat this cycle forever, theoretically, just as you can freeze and melt water as many times as you like.
Q. How long do the heaters work for?
A. Once activated each heater will last approximately 45-60 minutes in cold water conditions. Additional heaters can be kept on the beach on hand and can easily replace expired heaters for those who wish to extend their time in the water.
Q. How do I recharge/re-use the heaters?
A. Place the heater/s in the protective pouch supplied. Boil in saucepan for 15 minutes until the contents are completely melted. Allow the pack/s to cool before “Re-Activation”.
Q. Are the heaters heavy or bulky?
A. The kidney heater only weighs 260 grams and measures 23cm x 13cm x 1.2cm thick.
Q. How does a Hotsuits® kidney belt differ from that of a just wearing a conventional wetsuit?
A. Our specially designed Kidney belt heats the body by means of using an external heat source which can provide a safe measurable constant heat as opposed to in the conventionianal wetsuit whose main purpose is to trap water close to the user and utilize heat provided by the body.
Q. What are the advantages in owning a Hotsuits® Heated Kidney belt compared with just a conventional wetsuit?
A. A Hotsuits® Heated Kidney belt quite simply allows you to spend more time in the water. You will be more comfortable as well as giving you the opportunity to get in the water more often. It will allow you to wear a thinner wetsuit which is lighter and more flexible and in some cases even prevent the need to own both a summer and winter suit. You will also be able to surf or dive in a lot more extreme or undesirable conditions.
Most importantly you will never be asking yourself the question is it cold in the water today?
