After long period of absence the Swiss mark Airinside has bounced back on to the widsurfing scene.
The brand first made an appearance in the Nineties and headlined a technology of manufacturing monocoque boards - basically a bomb proof outer skin that provided the stiffness - but only full of air inside!
Lose a styroform blank and you can imagine the weight savings.
After several years of silence, Air Inside are back making boards with three models due out this summer.
Three freeride boards are prosposed - 80, 102 and 145 liters all built in in hollow technology and have a hull weight between 4.8 and 6kg.

Hollow board technology has been looked at in the past with interest by the major brands. And it is not suprising to see theStarboard's new EVO Active is built using the new hollow technology - an evolution that could have come out of the 2002 partnership between Starboard and AirInside to develop the X-186 Hollow board.
