The new Gaastra Onshore Wave Engine
Gaastra announce the update to the 2007 Poison and by the look of things it
is fantastic.
As many of the windsurfing manufacturers are putting their 2008 brochure
shoots to bed, images and details of the windsurfing kit we can look forward to
using next year are starting to appear.
Details of the new Poison are being talked up around the forums so here are a
few of the latest details.
Powerful waveriding, Bump & Jump, highwind freestyle and freeriding.
Design development
Twinstripe Xply luff panel - Gives an elastic yet rock solid feel.
Increased skin tension - Locks shape low and forward throughout a broad
wind range.
Flatter foot batten profiles - With a finer entry improve
speed and performance.
Slightly longer boom- Adds power for oniore days,
and bump and jump sailing.
Medium height clew grommet - Gives good
performance and comfort over a wide range.
New Luff Curve - Perfectly
matching Gaastra C100RDM masts.
Pro Comments
Ross Williams says:
The 2008 Poison is yet again the sickest powerhouse
wave sail on the market. This year its feeling even lighter and easier in the
hands, with still the bottom end grunt and powerto enable the bigger sailors to
be flying around in all wave conditions. The Poison is powerful and solid, but
make no mistake this is a sail to be enjoyed by all - not just the big guys.
Matt Pritchard comments:
I-look and GO! Power and performance are what these sails
are all about Draft and shape pushed forward in the rig helping to power up the
sail and get you moving. Flattened out back section to stc the backhand pre
ssure and keep the sail at ease when overpowered. Onshore, Bump and Jump or just
high wind blasting, the 008 Poisons are deadly!
The Gaastra Poison 2008 is designed for:
Advanced Intermediate to Professional sailor
Sailors between 65 - 120 kg.
