Following a recent relocation of the camera the mauiwindcam.com site has now been dramatically updated.
The new mauiwindcam.com adds video and a photo gallery to the site. The video compresses a full day's action into 90 seconds. While the gallery is a steadily building archive of favorite images from the past 5 years.
The mauiwindcam is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach 1 mile upwind of Kanaha State Park, looking at the reef commonly known as Camp One. It is popular spot with many world-class sailors. Among the regulars are Kevin Pritchard, Phil McGain, Robby Swift, Diony Guadagnino, Nik Baker, Micah Buzianis, Jimmy Diaz and the Moreno twins. But pretty much most of the tour stars will show up at one time or another to sail this famous spot.
The video images are saved from mauiwindcam every minute between 11:00 a.m. and sunset. All movies are in Quicktime format, and are approximately 90 seconds long. Each movie is available in 2 resolutions - 704x480 (approximately 5MB download) and 352x240 (approximately 1.5MB download). If you see a frame you like, famous face or even your own!&just note the frame time and send the request to the mauiwindcam team. The image will be added to the new Gallery.
