F2 Windsurfing announces that current world record holder Finian Maynard has signed a new multi-year agreement. The relationship from the past two seasons has been successful breaking outright world windsurfing records in the 500-meter and nautical mile courses with speeds of 48.70 and 39.97 knots respectively.
Finian has also performed well in the slalom discipline in 2005 winning the Europeans in Turkey and placing third at the World Championships in Spain.
F2 brand manager Boris Zwetkoff stated: "We are looking to the future and securing the services of our top rider was a priority. We hope to have further success on the water in 2006."
However, there is also speculation that Finian is about to leave Naish Sails and sign up with Neil Pryde. Having recently broken the world windsurfing speed record using a Naish Stealth it is surprising that Finian is on the move. Could be an interesting time ahead as he joins the like of Antoine Albeau in the quest to push windsurfing to its limits.
