The new windsurfing season has kick started with a great deal of talk around new boards and sails for the forthcoming year.
Last weekend at Leucate in the south of France, team Naish held its Naish Speed Party. Not wanting to disappoint anyone attending Mr Robby Naish himself brought along three new boards from the new 2007 range, to tantalise the tastebuds of those present. The new Naish Slalom Pro as well as the Speed Pro!
Based very much on the Hybrid Slalom and Freeride boards that Naish has had in its stable for a while the Slalom Pro 105 is a little longer at 229cm and the Slalom Pro 91 comes in at 219cm.
Just as we thought things could not get any more exciting - then Mr Naish pulls out the new Speed Pro. Almost small enough to fit in his pocket this speed stick is 222cm long and 48cm wide - its gunny shape and sharp rails pack a very limited 60 litres in volume!
These 3 models come equipped with Tuttle fins and double screw fittings. The standard finish appears to be very much along the JP Australia lines - sandpapered gel coat and very fine white paint finish to give that prototype look and keep the weight down to a minimum.

Naish are using a new technology called Duralight Carbon Composite which allows these boards to carry the best weight / volume ratio on the market. We wait to see what the final weights are for these boards - but all the hype points to these boards truly coming in at the featherweight belt!
