The new North R-TYPE designed for freeride and wide body boards that can cover a wide wind range.
Its low end profile and improved twist dynamics provide extreme acceleration from low speeds, very early planning and effortless gliding through wind holes. These properties make the R-TYPE the perfect choice on days with marginal planing conditions. Unlike no cam sails, the super soft rotating HYPER.CAMS keep up a solid profile even without sufficient wind pressure, and substantially enhance stability.
At the same time, the two cambers push the upper limit of the wind range into almost infinity. To keep weight as low as possible, we use only six ultra light battens, four of which are extremely stiff BOX.BATTENS
