The new Warp formula 100 is an accomplishment of a long-term development by the Exocet team. The new Warp Formula 100 is truly radical.
Exocet have brought a lot of new features into the board, and although it looks completely different it is a progression from the original Turbo formula 100 III design.
The tail width has been increased by 7 cm, which is the biggest alteration we have ever done on a formula board!! As pointed out earlier, such performance boards requires different tuning from windy and choppy open sea areas to light and flat- water lake conditions.
Consequently Exocet have emphasized a lot on the rails and footpad shape and positioning. The refined rails produce a lot more power compared to the previous board, and we have integrated the footpad into the rail to prevent contact with water spray,- and thus friction going upwind.
The result is a clean and undisturbed flow, and the pads themselves have been re-shaped into a "step stand" for better grip and comfort in all conditions, and particularly in light air.
This combination together with thicker rails and a wider tail provide significantly better drive and upwind angle.
By implementing such powerful features to the board, they had to find a solution to release all the power and to prevent drag. One solution was to move the fin box as far aft as possible, and this vital alteration allowed us to move the mast foot back accordingly, - to approximately 129cm from the tail.
The down wind performance improved dramatically with quicker and more extensive planning due to optimum release.
To avoid "tailing" with smaller sails and in very rough conditions, Exocet have developed the Adjustable Cutout System (ACS) as a standard feature, allowing very efficient (three options) "tail tuning".
A final but essential release refinement was achieved by "shaving off" the rails in the tail section, leaving your back foot virtually standing on air. It adds control to sensitive light- wind sailing and working on the fin becomes super easy.
